John Denver was a superstar performer who influenced millions of people with his pop-folk songs Many of them were located in Colorado. He was born Henry John Deutschendorf Jr. in Roswell New Mexico, he was in affection with Colorado and eventually moved to Aspen. More than a few people traveled through Colorado after hearing Denver's popular tunes for the state he was raised in. G. Brown, curator of the Colorado Music Hall of Fame said the following: John Denver is the only performer to embody Colorado. Denver was inducted into the Hall of Fame as its initial member in the year 2011. Today, he is the international face of Colorado. If you travel with me, you are likely to meet people from opposite sides of the globe. As an example, you might meet someone who is from New Zealand. And when you say that you are originally from Colorado you will get "Oh John Denver!" Brown said. Denver's first Top 10 hit as a solo artist after a short time in folk bands included Take Me Home Country Roads written by Bill Danoff. Danoff wrote the tune inspired by Johnny Cash, but Denver could hear the song's early versions and was aware that it would become an instant hit in the top 10. A few days after the performance to a throng of fans at Washington D.C., the artist recorded the song.
