Emma Charlotte Duerre Watson was born in Paris France to British parents Jacqueline Luesby and Chris Watson who were both lawyers. They moved to Oxfordshire at the age of five years old and attended an academy called the Dragon School. Emma had a dream to be a professional actress when she was just at the age of six. She was enrolled at Stagecoach Theatre Arts in Oxford, an acting institute with part-time courses. At the age of 10, she had performed and taken the lead in various Stagecoach productions as well as school plays. Harry Potter and the Sorcerers Stone (2000) the 2001 film adaptation to J.K. Rowling's bestselling British novel was published in 1999. Emma was found by casting agents through Emma's Oxford theater teacher. David Heyman told Emma along with Rupert Grint, Daniel Radcliffe after having 8 consecutive auditions. The film's release Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone (2001) was Emma's debut on the screen in cinema. The film is 2001's top production, and it broke records on opening day and first weekend. Reviewers praised the film, and especially the young performers. The Daily Telegraph, an important British publication, described Emma's acting "amazing". Emma's performance was recognized and later won awards for the movie.
